If you answered 'yes', then you likely see a LOT of cuts and scrapes! Even if you said 'no', I'm sure that you are not immune to the occasional minor injury.
Either way, I love having this easy-to-make DIY first aid spray in the house at all times. As soon as I (inevitably) hear, "MOM! So-and-so hurt themselves!" I know I will be using this spray for the millionth time (I have two boys - we see A LOT of cuts and scrapes)!
What I love about using essential oils for cuts and scrapes is that it:
Is an easy spray to make! I can whip this up in 1-2 minutes and quickly replenish when needed - saves me urgent trips to the pharmacy.
Soothes the cut or scrape AND the emotions of the injured person as the aromas reach the nose after spraying.
Helps reduce scarring.
Keep this first aid spray in your medicine cabinet at all times! (Try to store in an amber-tinted glass bottle to prolong the life of the spray bottle.)
How to make it:
Add these essential oils to a 2-ounce spray bottle (preferably amber-tinted glass bottles like these) filled with distilled water.
5 drops Lavender
5 drops Melaleuca (Tea Tree)
3 drops Basil
3 drops Helichrysum
How to use it: spray on cuts or scraps and dab with gauze or cotton balls to clean the wound.
While I hope you don't need this first aid spray often, I know you will eventually, and now you know how to use essential oils to help heal cuts and scrapes safely and effectively.
