How to Use doTERRA On Guard: My Top 12 Methods
Do you have a bottle of doTERRA On Guard just sitting in some drawer or cabinet somewhere? Did someone get you excited to buy it, full of promises for all the ways it could help your family? Or perhaps you are using it...but only know of one method?
Well, it's time to dust off that bottle and start using it. The truth is, it is really versatile and super supportive to the immune system, you just have to actually use it for the magic to happen. These 12 different ways for how to use doTERRA On Guard in your home will keep you healthy and strong.
12 Different ways to use doTERRA On Guard:
1) DIY Hand Sanitizer
Create your own DIY hand sanitizer by rubbing your hands together with 2-3 drops of doTERRA On Guard and a squirt of fractionated coconut oil.
Or, you can get a premade doTERRA hand sanitizing mist.
Side note: we have also just used the On Guard Touch roller bottle as a hand sanitizer when out and about. We roll it over our hands and then rub our hands together.
2) Fight off Seasonal Threats!
To fight off seasonal threats (this means preventatively and when you feel something coming on), add 2-3 drops of doTERRA On Guard to the palm of your hand with a squirt of fractionated coconut oil and apply to the bottoms of your feet, back, chest or elsewhere.
Or, make your own DIY roller bottle (here's how) with On Guard OR use a premade On Guard Touch roller bottle.
3) DIY Non-Toxic Cleaner
Make a DIY non-toxic cleaner by adding 25-30 drops of On Guard, 1 cup water, 1 cup white vinegar to a glass spray bottle. Use on countertops (it is advised not to use vinegar on granite or porous stone), doorknobs, glass, stainless steel, or in bathrooms.
Or, use doTERRA On Guard Cleaning Concentrate.
4) Purify the Air
Boost everyone's immune system and purify the air using 4-6 drops of On Guard in a diffuser. Put that diffuser right next to someone who might be sick!

5) Immune Boosting Snack
For a tasty and nutritious snack, add a few drops of doTERRA On Guard essential oil to a bowl of water with the apple slices in it, and let the apples soak. After a couple of minutes, take the apples out of the water and enjoy a healthy, immune-boosting snack.
6) DIY Immune Boost Supplement
Concoct your own supplement by adding 2-3 drops of On Guard to a veggie capsule and ingest.

7) Soothe a Sore Throat
To soothe a sore throat, gargle this (and then swallow):
2oz warm water
pinch of sea salt
2 drops On Guard
1 drop Lemon essential oil
1 tsp raw honey
Or, suck on a doTERRA On Guard Protecting Throat Drop.
8) Sip a Cuppa
Add a drop of On Guard to a tea bag or to a teaspoon of raw honey then add hot water. This method prevents the essential oils from floating on the surface. Don't drink out of plastic, choose glass or ceramic mugs.
9) Power-Up your Smoothie
The next time you’re enjoying a smoothie, add a drop of doTERRA On Guard. Your immune system will thank you!

10) Sanitize your Toothbrush
Clean and sanitize your toothbrush by placing your toothbrush upside down in a glass and filling with water so the toothbrush head is submerged. Add 5 drops of On Guard and soak it overnight.

11) DIY Mouthwash
Add 1 drop of On Guard to 2 ounces of water and use a mouthwash. Or, use doTERRA's premade Mouthwash.

12) Freshen your Laundry
If you love the smell of On Guard, try adding a couple of drops of On Guard to the washing cycle or to your wool dryer balls before starting the dryer cycle.
