How to make an immune support bomb with essential oils (aka FLOOM)
As I write this in September, I am uncertain of many things. Will my 4th grader do well in school this year? Is my 5-year-old growing well? But one thing I am 100% certain of is that back-to-school time of year means getting exposed to lots of germs!
Every year around this time I make sure that I am stocked up on all my favorite essential oils, but especially Frankincense, Lemon, Oregano, On Guard, and Melaleuca.
Why?
Because these are the 5 essential oils you need to make your DIY immune sipport bomb, a.k.a. F.L.O.O.M.
What is an immune support bomb?
The immune support “bomb”, a.k.a. F.L.O.O.M., is a blend of essential oils that can be taken internally, diffused, or applied topically, and is a way to support healthy immune function.
Essential oils can prove powerful support for your body to mount a positive immune response to seasonal and environmental threats.
How to make your DIY immune support bomb with essential oils - 3 ways
You will need these 5 essential oils:
Frankincense (F)
Lemon (L)
Oregano (O)
On Guard (O)
Melaleuca (M)

1) To apply topically
This method is great for kids (and adults) and is easy to carry on-the-go in backpacks or purses.
What you need:
10mL amber-tinted roller bottles (get them here)
Fractionated Coconut Oil (get it here)
The 5 essential oils in F.L.O.O.M. listed above: Frankincense (F), Lemon (L), Oregano (O), On Guard (O), Melaleuca (M)
Directions:
In an amber-tinted 10mL roller bottle, add
10 drops of Lemon
10 drops of On Guard
10 drops of Melaleuca
5 drops of Frankincense
5 drops of Oregano
Fill the rest of the bottle with fractionated coconut oil.
How to use:
Apply to chest, back of the neck, and bottoms of feet every 2-3 hours when seasonal threats are high.
For children, use about half of the amounts of oils listed. Check the dilution chart in this post for more info on how to make DIY roller bottles.

2) To diffuse
Diffusing the immune support essential oil blend can be really helpful for purifying the air and as a method to use with children.
When you diffuse essential oils, they are absorbed through inhalation and can enter our bloodstream within seconds. It's the fastest way to be exposed to essential oils.
What you need:
The 5 essential oils in F.L.O.O.M. listed above: Frankincense (F), Lemon (L), Oregano (O), On Guard (O), Melaleuca (M)
water (preferably distilled)
a diffuser (this one is my favorite but I also use this one)
ASAKUKI 500ml Essential Oil Diffuser

Directions:
Fill the diffuser with distilled water to the water fill level mark.
Then add:
2 drops of Lemon
2 drops of On Guard
2 drops of Melaleuca
1 drop of Frankincense
1 drop of Oregano
How to use:
Diffuse as needed to purify the air and give additional immune support in any room of your home.
3) To take internally
NOTE: I wouldn't take just any essential oil internally! To be safe and effective, especially for internal use, essential oils must have the proper chemical profile and also be free of any impurities or adulterations. doTERRA uses third-party analytical methods to ensure that every bottle meets the highest standards of composition and safety.
It's also not recommended to take Melaleuca (Tea Tree) internally so we leave the "M" of F.L.O.O.M. out of the veggie capsule.

What you need:
Fractionated Coconut Oil (get it here), or olive oil or avocado oil
The 4 essential oils in F.L.O.O.M. listed above (leaving out the "M" or Melaleuca): Frankincense (F), Lemon (L), Oregano (O), On Guard (O)
Directions:
In a veggie capsule, add:
2 drops of Lemon
2 drops of On Guard
1 drop of Frankincense
1 drop of Oregano
Top off the capsule with oil and close.
How to use:
Take one of these "Immune Support Bomb" capsules every 4-6 hours as needed.
Personally, I do not recommend giving these oils to children internally. I find that using the roller bottle and diffuser work wonders for kids.
Note: If you don't want to DIY, try doTERRA's On Guard+ blend as a soft-gel.
