Dark Cherry Chocolate Smoothie (using ingredients only from your pantry & freezer)

November 13, 20243 min read

Another smoothie recipe! This one is for the kids...ok, it's not JUST for the kids, but they're gonna love it! Even though it is packed with antioxidants, fiber, vitamins, and minerals (even some magnesium), I promise you, it won't taste like it is as healthy as it actually is.

Perfect smoothie for #SIP

Smoothies are often tasty but not always healthy. This dark cherry chocolate smoothie is both. With greens (that you won't taste), antioxidants, and fiber, it tastes delicious and is packed with nutrients. AND, considering how difficult it is (currently) to get fresh ingredients whenever you like, this smoothie uses only frozen produce and pantry items - it's the perfect Quarantine smoothie!

With the ability to have all of the ingredients on hand in the freezer or pantry, you can stock up and "treat" yourself whenever you want to give yourself or your kids a healthy boost of energy and nutrients.

Here is the recipe...

Dark Cherry Chocolate Smoothie Recipe (using ingredients only from your pantry & freezer)

Smoothies are often tasty but not always healthy. This dark cherry chocolate smoothies is both. With greens (that you won't taste), superantioxidants, fiber, it tastes delish and is packed with nutrients. AND, considering how difficult it is (currently) to get fresh ingredients whenever you like, this smoothie uses only frozen produce and pantry items - it's the perfect Quarantine smoothie!

  • 2 cups frozen spinach

  • 2 cups frozen cherries (can also do 1/2 cherries 1/2 strawberries)

  • 1 cup raw cashews

  • 1.5 cup water

  • 3 Tbsp raw honey

  • 1/4 cup raw cacao

  1. Add ingredients to high speed blender

  2. Blend until smooth

  3. Serve and enjoy

You can use fresh spinach but use 2.5-3 cups.

This recipe makes about 36 ounces.

Ingredients I use and where I get them

Navitas Raw Cacao (buy on Amazon)

Raw cashews (usually I buy at Costco but since SIP I get these on Amazon)

Raw honey (again, I usually get this locally at grocery stores but since SIP I'm getting raw honey online).

Kitchen Tips to save Time

  1. Make several smoothies at once! These smoothies will keep about 2 days in the fridge and still taste great!

  2. Meal prep with freezer smoothie packs. This way you can have a bunch of smoothies ready to go, all you need to do is dump in the blender and add liquid! Read all about this here.

  3. Keep your pantry & freezer stocked well. All of these ingredients can be stored for a while in the pantry or freezer so make sure the next grocery trip you make you stock up on the ingredients.

Additional ways to enjoy this dark cherry chocolate smoothie:

  • Try freezing it in popsicle molds and enjoy on a hot day. My favorite popsicle molds are featured in my Shop.

  • Try it as a base for a smoothie bowl! Add some nuts and seeds, fresh fruit, granola, coconut flakes, or anything else you like in smoothie bowls.

Have a smoothielicious day,

lunch with leah signature
